Divided according to different driving forces
The driving force of the slider can be divided into two types: mechanical and hydraulic, so punching machines can be divided according to the different driving forces used:
(1) Mechanical Power Press
(2) Hydraulic Press
Ordinary sheet metal stamping processing, most of which use mechanical punches. Hydraulic presses, depending on their use of liquids, can be divided into hydraulic presses and hydraulic presses, with hydraulic presses being the majority, while hydraulic presses are mostly used for giant or special machinery.
Classification by slider movement mode
According to the movement mode of the slider, there are single action, compound action, and triple action punch presses. However, the most commonly used punch press nowadays is a single action punch press with one slider. Compound action and triple action punch presses are mainly used for the extension processing of automobile bodies and large machined parts, and their quantity is very small.
Classification by slider drive mechanism
(1) Crank Press
Punches that use a crankshaft mechanism are called crankshaft punches, crankshaft type punches, and most mechanical punches
Use this institution. The reason for using the crankshaft mechanism the most is that it is easy to make, can correctly determine the lower position of the stroke, and the slider movement curve is basically practical for various machining. Therefore, this type of stamping is actually used for punching, bending, stretching, hot forging, warm forging, cold forging, and almost all other punching machine processing.
(2) Crankless Press
Non crankshaft punch press, also known as eccentric gear punch press, eccentric gear punch press. The measurement of the functions of the two structures of the crankshaft type punch and the eccentric gear type punch is shown in Table 2. The eccentric gear type punch has advantages over the crankshaft structure in terms of shaft rigidity, lubrication, appearance, and comfort, but the disadvantage is that it is relatively expensive. When the stroke is long, eccentric gear type punches are more advantageous, while when the stroke of special punching and cutting machines is short, crankshaft punches are better. Therefore, small-sized machines and high-speed punching and cutting punches are also in the field of crankshaft punches.
(3) Knuckle Press
The use of an elbow mechanism on slider drive is called an elbow punch. This type of punch has a unique slider movement curve where the speed of the slider near the bottom dead center becomes extremely slow (as measured by the crankshaft punch). And it also correctly determines the dead center position under the stroke, therefore, this type of punch is suitable for compression processing such as stamping and finishing, and is currently the most commonly used in cold forging.
